No time wasting

I wont bother with introductions, rather I will jump head first into the vast world that is boxing. On Saturday we saw a saw, what is known in astrological terms as a, super nova.
Yes I am referring to the Victor Ortiz fight. I woke on Sunday morning expecting to see the usual 'Ortiz wipes the floor with...' (I'll be honest I didn't know of his opponent) so you can only imagine my shock when I signed into my usual boxing forums to see people discussing ORTIZ QUITTING!
Something had to be wrong so I did my usual and read up and to my surprise it got worse as I was made aware of what could be described as one of the worst post fight interviews ever! (If you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiLrHSMuYCs)
I went on to see Steve Forbes slating Ortiz on his Facebook and that's when I knew it was bad as fighters don't usually turn on their own.
I finally saw the fight and the interview and my initial response was one of pity. I felt bad for the guy he seemed to young to handle the pressure Oscar and Golden Boy had put on him. The interview was a testament to his lack of maturity (What is your response to that? WOOOOAH) But as I continued to watch and mull over it I began to take it for what it was Ortiz plain and simply quit, his corner didn't stop it like Cotto/Margarito (yes I realise Cotto was not chomping at the bit to continue) he just didn't want to fight on.
I do realise he will be back and that you cant judge a fighter on one fight but this is a moment that will define his career. From what I have seen Mexicans especially have turned their back on him and it will take allot of De La Hoya dollars to resurrect this fallen 'star'
