Ortiz' Attempts To Clear The Air After Defeat

After his defeat at the hands of Marcos Maidana, Victor Ortiz has spoken in an attempt to save his reputation.

"I made some comments after the fight that were an emotional response to the loss," Ortiz claimed. "I take full responsibility for my mistakes and actions, but I didn't mean what I said. I am young, have things to learn and I guarantee you, I will be a world champion, MARK MY WORDS...Just watch me!"

Ortiz seems to be making the right noises here but I am worried that the fall out of his actions are irrepairable. The tag will inevitably stick and this is sad as he seems to be a very good fighter!
