Former IBF welter weight champion, Joshua 'Grand Master' Clottey has now been made mandatory challenger to the WBA welter weight championship. With 'Sugar' Shane Mosley as the 'super' champion and Vyacheslav Senchenko as the 'regular' champion, it is to be seen whom the WBA will call upon to face the tough Ghanaian.
Clottey is wasting no time though attempting to bait Mosley into a fight. Clottey has stated that Mosley can run no longer and that his manager Vinny Scolpino will be meeting with Top Rank in order to have them begin the match making process.
“I don’t think Shane (Mosley) can runaway this time since I am the first contender to the title, he has avoided me over the years, but I think this is the right time for us to fight because there cannot be any excuses from anybody anymore."
